BERTELSMANN STATEMENT: RTL GROUP REACTION

RTL Group notes today's announcement by Bertelsmann AG that it has decided not to proceed with a voluntary public offer for the shares of RTL Group that are not already owned by it or its affiliates.

The Board of RTL will continue to manage the company for the benefit of all the shareholders, and is looking forward to strengthening further its leading positions in television broadcasting, radio and production.
